JUNIOR JUDGING SECTION

 All Entrants must be in the Junior Judging Marque at 9:30am

to sign in for a 10am start.

            Entry is free.

            Competitors must be 12 years and under 25 years.

            Entry forms and score sheets will be available on show day.

            Appropriate clothing must be worn.

Overall Award – Trophy (Entrant must participate in all sections to be eligible for this award.

            All sections will be run and Judged under the guidelines set by the R.A.S.

 1. Merino Sheep

Four sheep will be used for the competition. Competitors will be allowed 12 minutes visual judging time, (Sheep standing-7 min, Sheep sitting-3 min, sheep standing-2min), followed by a further 6 min to complete score card. Each competitor selected for the oral section will be given 3 min to line up the sheep and explain the reasons behind their placings.

 2. Meat Sheep

Four Sheep will be used for the competition. Competitors will be allowed 8 minutes, (Sheep standing-5 min, Sheep Walking-2 min, Sheep standing 1 min), to judge the sheep. Each competitor selected for the oral section will be allowed 3 minutes to line up the sheep and explain the reasons behind their placings.

 3. Merino Fleece

Four fleeces will be used for the competition. Competitors will be allowed 5 minutes to assess each fleece and to complete their judging form. Competitors selected for the oral section will be allowed 2 minutes to explain their placings.

 4. Beef Cattle

Four animals will be used for the competition. Competitors will be given 8 minutes to judge the four animals and complete their judging card. Each competitor selected for the oral section will be allowed 3 minutes to explain their placings.

 

The major award will be awarded on accumulative points across all sections.
